So, you should always be prepared to tackle any serious incident. Some quick common first aid procedures can help you to get through certain minor crises till emergency reach to you. These tips are based on various procedures recommended by several specialists and senior doctors.
First Aid For Cardiac Arrest
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is the most important procedure among all. If any person has cardiac arrest that means his heart is not pumping blood to the body. To overcome this situation, CPR is given to the person, if not he may die. CPR procedure includes using an automatic external defibrillator (AED)to save his life. These AEDs devices are present in public as well as in business areas, it is used to give artificial oxygen to the heart through mouth. If in case it is not present then start chest compression immediately hard at the center of the chest, allow recoiling between compression.
Procedure For Bleeding
No matter what type of bleeding, whether it is severe or mild, almost all types of bleeding can be controlled using first aid. Mild bleeding will stop but if the person is having severe bleeding it is needed to be controlled. If not then it can lead to shock and sometimes eventually death. In case of severe bleeding, immediately cover the wound with a soft and clean cloth or big size band-aid. After covering it with cloth, apply direct pressure on the wound to stop the blood flow, tie the knot with cloth on the wound and don’t remove it. Add some more layers if you think it is getting worse, and apply pressure on the wounded part till the bleeding stops.
Procedure For Blister
If you are having a blister, don’t touch it again and again as it may cause a certain itching sensation. Cover the blister with a band-aid or any small cloth to prevent it from rubbing and pressure, which may cause swelling to it. If the blister is big and painful then it is better to drain and dress it. For treatment use sterilized needle to make a small puncture at the edge and put some pressure to clean it from inside and remove the fluid. After this, apply an antibiotic ointment to it and cover it for protecting further rubbing and pressure.
First Aid Procedure For Fracture
All extremity injuries should be treated such as broken bones unless you have an X-ray report. Don’t treat it like a normal injury because if not treated on time you have to pay a lot for your carelessness. So, get to the doctors as soon as possible.
There are some important considerations if you think you have a fracture. Don’t try to straighten the broken bone, use splint or padding to avoid movement of the bone. Apply a cold pack on the injury, but don’t apply ice directly on it. Keep the broken bone high in the air and for that, you can use certain pads available in the market.
